Anyone interested in stream conditions in Loudoun County can now easily find out answers to such questions as:

  • Is the stream water in my area healthy enough to play and swim in? 
  • What does the stream look like?
  • Should I eat the fish that I catch in local streams and ponds?

At www.loudoun.gov/streamconditions, users of the Loudoun County website will find a link to an interactive map where they can enter a street address and explore the stream conditions nearby.  This is one of the water quality initiatives the Board of Supervisors voted to move forward with when it suspended discussion on the proposed Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act amendments in May.

Information on stream conditions in Loudoun County is part of the county’s broader effort to identify, protect, manage and monitor the county’s natural, environmental and cultural resources, including forests, soils, geology, archaeological sites, water and hydrology.
