Algonkian Regional Park Hosts "Mammals of the Night!"

On Friday, September 10, you and your family will get the opportunity to learn about local nocturnal mammals at Algonkian Regional Park. The evening is free and runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. You will meet in the event center and then go for a walk to find red fox, deer, bats, opossums, raccoons and many more furry critters.

Be sure to make reservations if you want to attend!

Algonkian Regional Park is located at 47001 Fairway Drive in Sterling, VA.

 

Autumn Arts & Crafts Festival Coming Soon

Sterling’s Autumn Arts and Craft Festival is on Saturday, September 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You don’t want to miss the vast array of vendors at this festival. Attendees will get the opportunity to tour the Lanesville House, enjoy live music and watch craft demonstrations.

Children will get the opportunity to make scarecrows, paint pumpkins, and play games. The festival will be held at Claude Moore Park in the Lanesville Heritage Area at 21544 Old Vestal’s Gap Road in Sterling, VA.

Popular Seafood and Sushi Restaurant Offers Live Entertainment

Hooked Exquisite Seafood & Sushi in Sterling, VA was recently named “Best Sushi Restaurant in Northern VA” by Northern Virginia Magazine Readers, as well as “Best Seafood Restaurant in the D.C. area” by Open Table diners in 2008.

Now Hooked Exquisite Seafood & Sushi is hosting live entertainment on their patio every weekend to make your evening even more enjoyable. They feature classic rock, oldies, and even funk cover bands. The bands start performing at 9:00 p.m. every Friday and Saturday. Solo/duo specialty acts are performed earlier on Sundays starting at 4:00 p.m.

Cascades Farmers Market to Continue Into Fall

Come out and support your local farmers market every Sunday at The Senior Center. There is local produce and goods at this open-air farmer’s market that is running now until October 25.

The market is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and The Senior Center is located at 21060 Whitfield Place in Sterling, VA. Come check it out!

Calling all Senior Citizen Poker Players

The Loudoun County Senior Center in Sterling, VA offers poker every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All center members are free, and for others the cost is only $1.00. The center is located at 21060 Whitfield Place.
