Espinosa De Dios, Henry Dominguez- Vasquez, 20, and Juan Aguirre-Zelaya,18, of Sterling were taken into custody by police in September.

Espinosa De Dios' name was not released because of his age.

ID=71730154Centeno-Miranda, a Park View High School student, was shot at least two times and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died. The shooting occurred about 8:30 a.m. Friday outside townhouses, which are east of Sterling Boulevard on E. Cornell Avenue.

Centeno-Miranda was a recent immigrant from  El Salvador, fleeing death threats from gang members.

WAMU journalist Armondo Trull recently traveled to El Salvador to report on the gang violence plaguing that county.

"When you have a huge spike in gang violence in El Salvador," said Trull. He wondered if that would translate to the Metro DC area.

Trull found  graffiti in Langley Park, Md. identifying the violent MS 13 Salvadoran gang. In El Salvador, he spoke to gang members in prisons and he spoke to Danny Centeno's family.

Trull says the city where the Centeno's live is extremely dangerous.  He said Danny drove the family's motorcycle for a ferrying business which required him to cross gang lines. Though its believed Danny was not in a gang, simply crossing gang territories led to death threats.

Danny's family raised money to send him to live with his uncle in Sterling, Va. Two years later, he was dead.

Espinosa De Dios is being charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The two other suspects, Vasquez and Zelaya, have been charged with possession of a firearm by a person who is not a citizen of the United States and accessory after the fact.
