Sterling, Va. Suntrust Bank robber wanted


STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man involved in a robbery at a Suntrust Bank in the Sterling, Va. area on October 31.

The robbery happened at the Suntrust bank located in the Country Side area of Sterling, Va., around 11:30 a.m., the sheriff's office said.

The suspect went into the bank on Pidgeon Hill Drive with a firearm. He demanded cash and then fled the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

The suspect is being described as a white man in his late 50's to early 60's. He was wearing a dark colored plaid jacket with a camouflage hat and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

Suspect sought in Sterling bank robbery


STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect in connection with an armed bank robbery Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at the Wells Fargo Bank at the Community Plaza shortly before 1 p.m., police said.

City of Manassas residents can now use a more convenient way of receiving and paying their utility bill online. They have the option to pay by electronic check for free or pay a nominal fee to use their credit card. As of Sept. 1, the City of Manassas had more than 800 customers that have paid bills online, and almost 500 are using e-billing, enabling electronic notifications of due dates. Customers choosing to pay their bills by mail or in-person, can continue to do so.

For those customers who register for e-billing now through Nov. 30, they will be automatically entered for a raffle to win an Ipod Nano.

Man assaults passersby who tried to stop domestic fight


STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Three men who intervened in a domestic altercation were assaulted by the man involved, Loudoun County police said.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of McPherson Circle and Ferguson Court in Sterling.

Several passers-by saw a man in a domestic altercation with a woman and confronted the man, identified as Justin L. Ashby, 30, of Aldie, police said.


Ashby then assaulted three of the men, according to police. He was eventually subdued by several witnesses.

Ashby was charged with three counts of assault
and was held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention
Center on a $2500 bond.
