Loudoun County is Prepared to Open Shelters If Necessary

As Loudoun County officials continue to monitor Hurricane Sandy, preparations are being made in case shelters are required to accommodate residents who must leave their homes. Loudoun County officials are in the process of identifying the best locations for emergency shelters. Because a shelter could be impacted by the storm and because people should not report to a shelter before it is ready, the county will announce the locations if and when they are opened.

Loudoun will alert residents to the locations of the shelters through multiple communication channels, including the Loudoun County website, Alert Loudoun, social media, and the news media.
