TRAINING FOR TURKEYS FITNESS PROGRAM  at METROPOLITAN SCHOOL of the ARTS STUDIOS; Childcare Availabl

With the holidays approaching, eating and indulging is top-of-mind for most, but The Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) Studio in Alexandria, Va. has started its Training for Turkey adult fitness program now through Nov. 28, offering unlimited adult fitness classes for $50.  MSA will even host a special Thanksgiving Day MetroBarre and Yoga Class on Thurs., Nov. 28 to bring in the holiday. And for all those moms, childcare is available at both studios for all 9:30 a.m. classes, Monday through Friday. Cost is $2 per child. Donate Non-Perishable Foods at Loudoun County Harris Teeter Stores to benefit Loudoun Interfaith Relief

In partnership with the Washington Nationals, Loudoun County Harris Teeter stores are hosting a food drive to support Loudoun Interfaith Relief now through July 8, 2013.

Harris Teeter announced in May a $225,000 donation to its food bank partners, which includes Loudoun Interfaith Relief (LIR) and is hosting this food drive to help raise additional awareness for the problem of hunger. Donations made at Loudoun County Harris Teeter locations will benefit the people and families that LIR provides food to locally. Food collection bins will be placed in the Loudoun County Harris Teeter locations lobby for food donation.

Gather your family — including your pets — and stop by Goose Creek Village Shopping Center on June 8 between 1 PM and 5 PM for the Summer Dollar Sidewalk Stroll. Goose Creek merchants will participate, as will other small, local businesses, and the event will benefit Loudoun Youth, Inc., a local nonprofit organization that offers youth development and leadership programs to Loudoun County teens.

Guests at the family-friendly outing will enjoy food samplings from the center’s restaurants. Passion Fin, already dubbed a top sushi restaurant in Northern Virginia, will offer free California roll samples and $3 sushi plates, while East Wind China Bistro will offer free samples and coupons.

“Dance Your Heart Out” Campaign Raises Money For American Heart Association

In honor of National Heart Month, Metropolitan Fine Arts Center (MFAC) of Alexandria and Fairfax Station, Va. is featuring their “Dance Your Heart Out” campaign, offering unlimited adult dance and mind/body classes throughout February for a special price of $110. And MFAC will donate 10 percent of all “Dance Your Heart Out class fees to the American Heart Association. Schedules can be viewed at www.metrofinearts.com. Classes are available at Alexandria and Fairfax Station, Va. locations.

MFAC’s “Dance Your Heart Out” campaign includes all adult dance, yoga and MetroBarre classes. A regular adult class fee is 10 classes for $130. The February “Dance Your Heart Out” program provides unlimited adult class access at a significantly discounted set fee of $110 with 10 percent donated to the American Heart Association.
