Citizens Encouraged to Sign Up For FREE Traffic and Emergency Alerts
News, Transportation

From the Leesburg Police Department:

From now on when a traffic incident occurs either in the Town of Leesburg or in Loudoun County, alerts will be sent to one central group on the County’s alert system. The Group, titled Loudoun Traffic Road Closuresallows individuals to receive traffic alerts from both the Leesburg Police and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. The goal is to provide a coordinated platform for timely traffic information dissemination. Officials from both agencies state that traffic in the county and region is so interdependent that integrated announcements are vital in successfully dealing with traffic incidents and delays

To sign up for the alerts you must do the following:

  1. For those who already are signed up to receive alerts from either Loudoun County or Leesburg  update your profiles to insure that you have included Loudoun Traffic Road Closures as an alert you wish to receive.
  2. For those who are not signed up for alerts, you can do so from either the Loudoun County or the Town of Leesburg web page. As you sign up you will chose which agencies/subjects you want to receive alerts from. Make sure you chose Loudoun Traffic Road Closures to receive the combined traffic alerts.
