Village at Leesburg announced recently that Orvis, a national retailer of outdoor goods, has signed a lease for retail space within the 1.2 million square foot mixed-use project at Route 7 and Crosstrail Blvd.  Orvis will occupy 6,022 square feet of retail space on a parcel at the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Crosstrail Boulevard east of Wells Fargo.  Orvis anticipates opening in late 2013.

In 1856, Charles Orvis founded the Orvis Company in Manchester, Vermont, offering the finest fly fishing equipment, and priding himself on customer satisfaction and service. Today, along with its world famous fly-fishing gear, Orvis offers distinctive clothing, home furnishings and gifts. Each item is rooted in the company’s heritage of authenticity and the outdoors, and is backed with a no-questions-asked guarantee. As the longest-running mail order business in the United States, and with a flagship retail store located in the same Vermont village as the original store since 1856, Orvis offers guests unparalleled experience and knowledge.  Each year, to reflect the company’s appreciation of sporting traditions and its commitment to the natural environment, Orvis donates 5% of its pre-tax profits to conservation efforts nationwide.

“Orvis’ decision to locate in Leesburg matches up perfectly with market data showing strong opportunity for retail growth in the sporting goods category,” said Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s Economic Development Director.  “Their status within the market as a “destination retailer”, the result of their long-standing reputation for excellent customer service and high quality selections, brings a new dimension of retail to Leesburg.”

“We are incredibly excited to announce Orvis, a highly respected national brand, will be joining the Village at Leesburg community,” said Michael Wheat, executive vice president and director of leasing for Cypress Equities. “We are confident that our guests will find that the addition of Orvis will further enhance the shopping experience at Village at Leesburg.”
